Volunteering and Civic Life in America

The Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) released its annual research report on Volunteering and Civic Life in America. This report shows that in 2015, 1 in 4 Americans volunteered through an organization and nearly two-thirds helped their neighbors, demonstrating that service to others continues to be a priority for millions of Americans.

588,900 residents (31.4%) volunteered 66 million hours of service in our communities in 2015, beating out Seattle for the second year in a row.
