2016 AmeriCorps State and National Competition

Oregon Volunteers is offering a limited opportunity to apply to compete for AmeriCorps State funding in the 2016 AmeriCorps State and National competition.

AmeriCorps grants are awarded to eligible organizations proposing to engage AmeriCorps members in evidence-based or evidence-informed interventions to strengthen communities. An AmeriCorps member is an individual who engages in community service through an approved national service position. Members may receive a living allowance and other benefits while serving. Upon successful completion of their service, members earn a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award from the National Service Trust that members can use to pay for higher education expenses or apply to qualified student loans.

The following organizations are eligible to apply for this limited grant opportunity:

  • Current AmeriCorps State Competitive operating grantees in the third year of a three-year grant
  • Current AmeriCorps State Formula planning grantees
  • Current CNCS operating grantees may be invited to apply based on their alignment with CNCS and OV priorities and potential for success in the national competition.
  • AmeriCorps State Formula planning grant applicants from the prior year that were not awarded funding may be eligible to apply.

Organizations that propose to operate an AmeriCorps program serving more than one state or territory and federally-recognized Indian Tribes are not eligible to apply to Oregon Volunteers and must apply directly to the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS). More information can be found on the CNCS Funding Opportunities page.
