Senior Corps Week to recognize volunteers' impacts

by Jared Paben

Each day, Senior Corps volunteers work to improve our communities.

Next week, May 19-23, elected officials and community leaders across the country will highlight that impact through Senior Corps Week.

During Senior Corps Week, elected leaders issue proclamations in support of Senior Corps. Are you an elected official looking to issue a proclamation in support of Senior Corps? Click the following link: Proclamation template

Senior Corps is made up of three programs: RSVP, Senior Companions and Foster Grandparents. They have proven to be effective ways of engaging Americans who are 55 and over in meeting national and community needs.

Nationally, nearly 330,000 older Americans volunteer through Senior Corps. Last year, volunteers provided more than 82 million hours of service.
