More than 300 gather for Governor's Volunteer Awards Luncheon

The 2014 Governor’s Volunteer Awards Luncheon drew together more than 300 people from across Oregon to celebrate our state’s outstanding volunteers.

Secretary of State Kate Brown presented the awards during the annual event, which was held on April 24 at the Salem Conference Center. Secretary Brown presented eight state-level awards and 24 regional awards to exceptional volunteers and not-for-profit and business volunteer programs.

During the ceremony, Secretary Brown noted that about 1.1 million Oregonians volunteer - about one third of the state’s population! Thanks to all of our state’s volunteers for working to improve our communities.
